Letter Time Frame

We heard from our counselor Lane at the IAC yesterday via email. Looks like he had a total of 12 letters to review when he got back from the holiday break; ours is #4 on the list. So I guess we won't hear anything back on it until at least sometime next week. Bummer. I was hoping to spend the weekend at the printers. Oh well.

One other thing. We sent in some more paperwork this weekend regarding our choices on birthparent races as well as drug and alcohol use by birthmothers. This is pretty personal stuff so I won't post it all here. We are pretty open to almost any race, although our preference would be a mixed black and white child.

(No not like this !)

As for drugs and alcohol, we've done some research on the various substances and how they can affect a pregnancy. Alcohol turns out to be the worst of the lot. We also know we can't say NO to everything, we'll never see a baby. So we've laid down some pretty rigid ground rules, and we'll just have to take it from there. Fingers crossed.

I hope this letter revision goes quickly and gets accepted. We're so close now I'm finding this the hardest part so far!

I hope you get what you're looking for in a birthmother. I can't believe alcohol and drugs are a deciding factor. That's just sad. I know the waiting is hard but this will happen sooner than you think!

I remember we decided early on that alcohol was a definite no no.

Good Luck Guys!
