Marching to Finalization

Well everything is set.  Our finalization hearing in Los Angeles County Court will be on Friday March 5th.  That will finally be the end of this long legal process!  I called the court yesterday and found out they were going to set our date today.  The guy I talked to was so nice.  They only do Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  Coming from Arizona Friday works best because it gives us time to do the hearing, meet up with Sabrina's birth family, and visit friends we have not seen in a while.  I guess they are not supposed to allow you to pick your own date, because when I asked for the first available Friday he said "Call me back tomorrow morning before we open so we can talk off the record".  OK...so I did.  He let me pick the date and time I wanted.  I would have done earlier, but March 5th is the first available Friday morning.  The really amazing thing is, it will happen exactly one year from when we had our first contact with "Lucy" and learned about Sabrina's impending birth.  Freaky huh?  It even made Sabrina stand up and take notice...(which she's been able to do for about a week now, in 30-60 second intervals)

Oh well nothing lasts forever!

Yes! Yes! Your finalizatio -- really so very cool! You've probably already heard this, but with open adoption, we think that day is just the "done deal" and then it's soooo emotional. Also, I love the news of Sabrina's standing and moving along the walking path. Yea!

Wow, those dates are freaky! Neat. Congrats. I CANNOOOOOOOOOOOOT wait until March for this date of yours. And because I cant wait until this adoption is over.
I go tyour message about mailing the package to us. Would you be willing to hold onto it until we know weather or not for sure this is going to work out? We hit more bumps in the road and Im really trying to be positive but its so hard. This adoption for sure is NOTHING like Kayla's and it has really taken a toll on all of us. I found my first 3 gray hairs.

Congratulations! However,I don't think I would have shared the specifics of this situation with the whole world wide web and protect the one person in the bureaucracy who helped me.
