Some Exciting Evening

It's 8 PM; Gregg is making a pumpkin cheesecake for Thanksgiving, I'm on the couch watching the Coyotes game, and Sabrina's on the floor coloring on her giant paper pad.  The Boys are somewhere, sleeping.  We're enjoying the quiet as we wait for the arrival of Grandma-ma from San Antonio Texas.  Gregg's mother has not seen the baby since last November, so it will be exciting to have her and her husband here for a few days to visit and have Thanksgiving.  Right now, I'm just enjoying the calm before the storm.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo

This week day care was closed on Monday, so I took the day off and Sabrina and I went to the Scottsdale Railroad Park.  We met my sister Sue and my mother, and Sue's kids Timmy and Lissy.  It was a great day with temps around 85 and a little breeze.  The park has a railroad that runs through it, as well as a carosel, and a playground.  There are actual railcars that you can visit and rail road museums.  It's really nice.  Grandma got our tickets (what a bargain...$2) for the train and off we went.  The cars are open topped and not really any sides, so I'm thinking "Great, I hope Grandma doesn't drop the baby off the side".  Sabrina liked it but at first didn't know what to think.  My nephew took video and you need an iron stomach to watch it will all the moving around!  After that, we had some ice cream and our first carosel ride:

Too bad Greggory had to work.  I think when his mom comes to visit for Thanksgiving we'll take her there, I think she'll enjoy it.  They do decorations and characters like Santa and Disney guys for Christmas, but that won't start until December.  Sabrina was happy to spend the day with Grandma:

Alone Again, Thankfully...

Well Gregg's Mom and her husband have returned to Texas, and the three of us are alone once again. Yes! I love his Mom, just like I love mine, but I think we can both do without anymore advice from all the grandmothers. When she got here Sabrina was a month old, and we were all used to our little routines. Adding one of our mothers to the mix trying to help by doing her own thing just shakes up the entire system. So I'm glad it's just us for a bit now.

We're recovered from her party, which was as I posted earlier really a lot of fun. My sister Tricia's friends who we don't even know (Do you read this blog? If so drop a note!) got us these embroidered burp cloths that are really beautiful. I almost hate to let her spit up on them, but it's either the fancy cloths or my favorite six year old Abercrombie T-shirt. And for a gay man that's an easy decision.

We're still doing good in the sleep department; she goes down at about 10:30 or 11 and gets up around 4:30 or 5 for a bottle. That's not bad if you ask me! I think we're kinda spoiled. I'm on paternity leave this week and Gregg's been going to the office, so I have her all to myself. Next week Gregg will go back to working from home and we'll play it by ear for a while. His boss is pretty good about it so far so hopefully day care is down the road a bit.

A Welcome Home Party

Saturday was Sabrina's "Welcome Home" party. We had it at my cousin Charlie's house because he's got a lot more room then we do and he has a pool for the kids to play in. We had a really good time. Sabrina was great and didn't fuss at all even though she was passed around from person to person all afternoon long. She was a little trouper. The party was nice because it was a mix of family and friends and everyone had fun. Gregg's mother and her husband are staying with us this week so that's why we planned it for this weekend. Since they live in Texas they don't get to be part of the family events very often.

As for the blog, I'm sorry for the lack of updates. Between entertaining everyone who's dropping in, keeping the grandparents happy, and playing with and caring for Sabrina I haven't had a lot of free time lately. I promise the updates will be more frequent! (And yes, you did see it correctly, Sabrina's cake says 'Welcome Home Little Tax Deduction'. I said that as a JOKE, and someone put it on the cake on purpose. Someone named Gregg. LOL)
