Typical Friday Night

After my last fun filled post I thought something a little lighter was in order.  Thank you though for all the comments.  It means a lot.  I got more comments on that post then any other on this blog, including the one announcing Sabrina's birth.  There would have been more but I deleted the ones calling me a hypocritical a-hole.  Sorry haters, but the outpouring of support shows you why this blog will NEVER be intimidated into going private (your stated goal) and will continue to be available to help other adopters in any way possible.

So, that's all I have to say about that.

Moving on...
Here's the typical Friday night.  First a bath, then pajamas and silliness ensues...

Follow that up with nightly story time.  Sabrina has always loved for us to read to her.

Follow that with a good night to Papa and it's off to bed.

Life doesn't get much better then this.

Hangin' in Cali

So Cute!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy taking stock of all that's happened over the last nine days. I can't believe it's been that long already. We're still here in California waiting for the ICPC paperwork to clear. Sabrina is doing well, although she still gets hiccups and gas attacks. I'm pretty sure one is related to the other. Tomorrow morning we have a doctor's appointment so we'll see what she says about that. She's getting on a schedule now, and only wakes up two or three times in the night for a bottle. She'll do 9, midnight, 4, and then a morning bottle around 7 or so. Much better then the every two hours she wanted at the first part of the week.

We had contacted some guys that were listed on our agency's website shortly before leaving Arizona. They live here in Rancho Cucamonga (next town from Ontario, and where Gregg lived for 12 years before we met). We met them for lunch on Sunday and got to know them. They loved Sabrina, and invited us to come for dinner on Wednesday. Hopefully they won't have to wait long until matching and finding a child of their own.

What Happened to the Baby We Brought Home?

Burp!

Sleep now, wake later

So sweet and nice, quiet, a perfect angel...until it's time for those two daddies to go to sleep. OK I get it. Everyone says "Oh you don't get sleep with a baby around". I knew they were exaggerating. It can't be that bad. Well she woke up last night about every 45 minutes or so. It is that bad. We're taking turns on night duty, I went first. Gregg actually slept through half of the screaming! She's crying, and I can hear him snoring over it. Great.

Turns out the little one gets real gassy. After you feed her she'll give giant burps. But she also gets hiccups from gulping her food down. The baby book says infants who have hiccups probably started having bouts of them in the womb, and she'll just have to grow out of it. It doesn't say when; I'm hoping the answer is "by Thursday". But who cares. She's ours and she's adorable. My sister got her this little mini lounger chair and she does love that. Tonight's Gregg's turn. Let's see how much better she is with him!
